First Professional Haircut (Candor)

At the end of August (Yes - 2 months ago.  How does time go by so fast.), we decided that Candor needed to get his first professional haircut.  His hair, albeit beautiful, was a bit out of control.  Todd decided they would have a daddy/son haircut date. On the morning of the haircut Hurricane Harvey was bearing down on Austin. This would also be the last day we would be able to walk out our front door for the next couple of months.  Thanks Harvey for the rain, thanks Paradisa Homes for giving us the cheapest door known to man, and thanks to all door companies that take 6 weeks to get a door delivered to you after it is ordered....but I digress. Bundled up and ready to roll.  Bye bye my babies' beautiful locks! Todd got his haircut first and Candor watched and waited patiently. Getting his first cut from Mr. Rudy!  My heart melts looking at these pictures. The finished product! We got a little more trimmed off than w...

5 Month Visit with Dr. D. (Townes)

Since Townes was born he has been an excellent sleeper.  He sleeps and sleeps for hours on end.  One thing he does not do while sleeping is move.  I lay him down on his back (because you know - back is best these days) and in the morning he is in the same spot.   At his 2 month visit with Dr. D. he mentioned that Townes was getting a bit of a flat spot on his head and gave us some tips to try to prevent it from getting worse.  We worked so hard for the next couple of months.  He never step foot in another swing.  We re-positioned his head in the crib each night.  We spent countless hours doing tummy time and I was super cognizant to never leave him on his back or in his car seat for too long while he was awake.  I continuously worried about what I could be doing better and felt tremendous guilt about what I should have done differently the first two months. At his 4 month visit Dr. D., he said that his head had not improved much...

38 Months! (Candor)

Candor man is now 38 months old! This month we have lived and breathed Paw Patrol.  Paw Patrol is Candor's first real obsession and let me tell you he has went off the deep end.  We are all Paw Patrol characters and go by the character names.   Candor is Chase. Todd is Ryder.  I'm not sure why he lucked out and didn't have to be a pup. Townes is Rubble.  I'm thinking Candor picked Rubble for Townes as Rubble is the chubbiest pup. And finally I am Rocky.  The garbage truck dog.  Really?!?!  Thanks Candor....I mean Chase. I literally have not been called Mommy all month.  It is Rocky this and Rocky that.  When I drop him off from school he screams 'Bye Rocky!'.  I had to explain to Ms. Suzi what the deal is.   When we are out and about and someone asks his name he says Chase.  If they ask what his brothers name is he says Rubble.  He has also named every single one of his friends ...

5 Months! (Townes)

My little butter bean is now 5 months old! Candor was my assistant during picture time.  They are so much fun together! Townes' big thing this month was getting to eat food!  Candor decided that Townes should eat carrots first.  This was a picture of his very first bite.  I thought to myself 'OH NO ANOTHER NON-EATER!'  That was short lived as after the initial taste he could not get enough.  I wish I had a picture of other bites but if I'm slow to move the spoon to his mouth he gets mad.  Big boy likes his food!  He has eaten every single thing I have given him, except peaches.  But really peaches are not all that good so I don't blame him. He got to ride the Zilker Zephyr for the first time.  He loved it.  I love his sweet little expression in the below pic.  I think he is going to love the outdoors like the rest of us! Big brother held his leg so he would not get scared. He attended church seve...
