Quarantine

It has been a very long week.  Todd was in Virginia for work and Candor and I stayed in the house all week resting, taking medicine, and trying to kick this virus to the curb.  He still has a bit of a cough and a runny nose but he is doing much better.  We have played with every toy, watched his Monkey Man videos a million times, and have had every conversation under the sun.  We are very ready for Todd to get home and to get out of this house.   Since we had to miss swim - I brought swim to Candor.  I actually really liked giving him in a bath sans whale so I suppose we will put that with the rest of his toys and clothes he has outgrown. Watching his videos. We bought him a new high chair to take to restaurants so we don't have to use theirs.  It is awesome and will hook on anything.  Hopefully this will keep lots of dirty germs away. Playing with his golf clubs from Papa and G. I read that teet...

Under the Weather

The Monday after Easter Candor started getting a little cough.  The remainder of the week he acted like his normal happy self but continued to cough.  This week the cough started getting worse each day.  I knew something was not right when he was fussy at swim lessons, wanted to be rocked and cuddled, and didn't flirt with strangers.  On Friday I called Dr. D. and made an appointment for that afternoon.  At the appointment Dr. D. asked us how long Candor had been coughing.  Todd began telling him that on Easter Sunday we left him in the nursery during church -   Dr. D. immediately interrupted him and said "So.... you are blaming God...".  He is so funny and never makes me feel crazy for asking so many questions! Ha. Anyway - Candor was diagnosed with a little virus and was prescribed rest, Tylenol, and his humidifier.  Today was a little better and I'm hoping tomorrow will be much better.  I hate seeing him sick and all I have done f...

Parties Galore

Last weekend we attended 3 different parties.  Attending 1 much less 3 parties with an 8 month old is hard work! On Saturday Uncle Tio Arby's company (Hindsight 20/20) was celebrating their 25 anniversary. They invited all their clients to La Mancha to enjoy some fajitas, margaritas, and cake! After staying for about an hour we cruised on down to Round Rock to attend Regina's 3rd birthday party!  The party was at the Safari House.  They had a small section for the infants and a large section for the older kids. On Sunday Candor was invited to Dean's 2nd birthday party.  Before the party we went to church. Candor did not cry once in the nursery!! How cute are these two dudes?? Dean's party was at his house and was Mickey Mouse themed.   Look who was at Dean's party?!?!  Uncle Tio Arby!  Candor was digging his hat.

First Easter

Candor had a fabulous first Easter!  Earlier in the month Candor and I visited the Easter Bunny at Whole Foods.  I thought the bunny looked quite creepy but Candor loved him! On Easter morning we walked down to Crestview Methodist Church to attend service.  Candor was super excited to go and stay in the nursery with all the other kids!  Petting zoo before church. Mrs. Sunny (the nursery teacher) said Candor only cried once.  I call that a success!  He was very happy to be back home with Todd and I after church though. Poppy and Nanna Katie sent Candor some Easter presents!  He loved them.

Monkeying Around...

Potpourri

The last 3 weeks have been a blur...  Below is a quick summary of what the boy has been up to. First time swinging on a swing set.  He does not like this near as much as he loves his precious swing.  First time playing on grass. Just sitting around looking cute. Still loves his baths!  Enjoying baby food at La Mancha. Helping Todd do some work. Watching our yard guy mow the grass.  He was very fascinated with this.  I wish he would come mow more every day! Sleeping in the back seat while I run errands.  It appears like he is bracing for an abrupt stop!  Birthday lunch with Kim. He finally likes to play with his Jack in the Box. Stocking up on some groceries. He has learned how to crawl.  He now hates all his toys but loves cords, outlets, remote controls, phones and pretty much everything he is not allowed to touch/have. I purchased this large play yard so I don't have to constant...
