Mother's Day 2017

I got to celebrate Mother's Day for the first time as a mother of 2! Candor's school invited all the moms to a Mother's Day tea.  All the kids sang us songs and we ate some treats afterwards.  It was so much fun. Candor's class also made cards, pot holders, and bookmarks.  I love them! G and PaPa were in town for Mother's Day weekend.  They let Todd and I sleep in and entertained Candor.  It was the best present. After we got up Todd made us all breakfast.  We had eggs and heart shaped cinnamon toast!  Townes, Todd, and Candor then each gifted me with Starbucks cards.  Man - they know the way to my heart.  Momma needs her coffee. We then took a few family photos.  Candor wouldn't put up his IPad and Townes wouldn't wake up but hey that's reality and they are cute as could be. Everyone also got in some good Townes snuggle time. To end this blog entry I saw a quote the other day by Don...

Townes meets Dr. D.

Townes finally got to meet Dr. D. 2 days after we got home from the hospital and then when he was two weeks old.  He doesn't appear very impressed with Dr. D. either time. On the first visit with Dr. D. we reviewed everything that happened during delivery.  He then checked on Townes and said he was perfect. On the second visit Townes weighed in at 9lbs 15oz.  Dr. D. told me I should go feed him and weigh him again so we could say he is 10lbs.  He is 21inches long and his head is 37 cm.  If you remember when he was born he was 21.25 inches long.  That is because his head was stretched due to coming out of the birth canal.  Dr. D. said lots of parents freak out and think there kids are shrinking.  Ha.

Townes Lennon Jones

We all woke up on the morning of April 24 and got ready to go to the hospital to be induced. The family all waved us goodbye! We checked in to the hospital at 8AM and got ready to be induced at 9AM. After starting the induction process Todd and I decided we needed to post a picture on Facebook to let everyone know the baby was coming!  How great is that picture?!?! Dr. Gooch broke my water and shortly after that I received my epidural.  I dilated very quickly and then it was time to push!  At 4:02PM Townes Lennon Jones was born!  He weighed a whopping 9lbs 4oz and was 21.25 inches long. Townes entered the world with a nuchal cord. His 2 minute APGAR was low, but recovered nicely for his 5 minute. Still, as a precaution, the hospital placed him in the NICU in order to run a set of antibiotics. I did not get to hold him, as he was whisked away. immediately It was a bit of a whirlwind, in fact I don't even recall the moment Todd told me "It's a b...

Baby Watch 2017

On April 13 I went in to see Dr. Gooch to check on the newest baby Jones.  I was 37 weeks and while still very close to my due date I thought I still had a few weeks to go.  At the visit Dr. Gooch told me that I was already 3.5 centimeters dilated and I could go into labor any day. My first thought was.... WHAT ABOUT MONSTER JAM!?!?  Silly I know but Candor (really probably Todd and I) had been looking forward to going for months.  Monster Jam was on the 23rd and Dr. Gooch told me I would not make it. I called Todd and told him he needed to start transitioning his work now as the baby was coming soon!  I then started thinking I needed to start talking to Nana and Pop Pop stat and work on a plan to get them here so if I did go into labor they could stay with Candor. That night when Todd came home he arrived in this.... I mean I had called him 3 hours earlier to tell him the baby was going to come any second so he decides he needed to trade cars with so...
