Candor goes to Townes

My little maniac is now 39 Months old! He had a pretty big month.  The most exciting thing he got to do is go to the Formula 1 races with Todd!  He has never been so excited about anything in his entire life. He got this very expensive little race car at the races and has slept with it many a night since.  It was worth every penny. He got to go to ACL with Todd and I.  He loved riding the bus there but it was so hot at the festival that he melted...as did Todd and I.  I think he is still a little young to enjoy it and I think Todd and I are a little old to enjoy it.  Sigh.... He went to school for the first time with only underwear.  He left the house wearing the below outfit. When I picked him up he still had on the same clothes!  Woooooooooooooohooooooooooo!!! The dude is officially potty trained. His new favorite thing to do is to build VERY HUGE train tracks all over the house.  Le...

My little bubba is now 6 months old.  Is he not the cutest little thing on you have ever seen. This month he learned to swing.  Townes was so proud and thought he was a big boy. He loves playing with his toys. If his brother's toys are laying around he really likes to try and nab those.  I think we are going to have another car lover on our hands.   Overall it has been an excellent month and he has grown and learned so much.  Here are a few other gems.

Townes had a great 6 month visit with Dr. D.!  He seemed a bit nervous in the waiting room as the last time we were here Dr. D. told him he needed to get a helmet. He weighed in at 21lb 12.5oz and is 46cm tall.  95th percentile in everything! Dr. D. said Townes was awesome and was right on track.  He also said his head was looking great!  He had to get 3 shots and took them like the champ he is! See you again when I'm 9 months old Dr. D.!

I met with Ms. Suzi in early October to discuss how Candor was doing in school so far this year.  In the progress report she gave me it stated, "Candor gets along with all of his classmates and is also happy to entertain himself.  He loves to build, complete puzzles, and play with the cars.  Outside he likes to play in the sandbox and swing.  He is interested in all the activities we do and participates well.  He is a good clean up helper in class and loves when it is his turn to be line leader.  He manages himself very well when getting out snack and lunch.  He is very bright and is a joy to talk to.  I love having him in class.". I am so happy we chose Crestview United Methodist Preschool for Candor and soon Townes to attend. 

At the end of August (Yes - 2 months ago.  How does time go by so fast.), we decided that Candor needed to get his first professional haircut.  His hair, albeit beautiful, was a bit out of control.  Todd decided they would have a daddy/son haircut date. On the morning of the haircut Hurricane Harvey was bearing down on Austin. This would also be the last day we would be able to walk out our front door for the next couple of months.  Thanks Harvey for the rain, thanks Paradisa Homes for giving us the cheapest door known to man, and thanks to all door companies that take 6 weeks to get a door delivered to you after it is ordered....but I digress. Since Townes was born he has been an excellent sleeper.  He sleeps and sleeps for hours on end.  One thing he does not do while sleeping is move.  I lay him down on his back (because you know - back is best these days) and in the morning he is in the same spot.   At his 2 month visit with Dr. D. he mentioned that Townes was getting a bit of a flat spot on his head and gave us some tips to try to prevent it from getting worse.  We worked so hard for the next couple of months.  He never step foot in another swing.  We re-positioned his head in the crib each night.  We spent countless hours doing tummy time and I was super cognizant to never leave him on his back or in his car seat for too long while he was awake.  I continuously worried about what I could be doing better and felt tremendous guilt about what I should have done differently the first two months. At his 4 month visit Dr. D., he said that his head had not improved much...
