Merry Christmas and Happy 2018

I know I have probably said this before but I LOVE CHRISTMAS!  Everything is bright, shiny, and magical.  Everyone is so happy and there is so much excitement in the air.  Candor and Townes were an absolute blast this Christmas.  Everyday we would sing Christmas songs, read Christmas books,  talk about Santa Claus, look for Cire the elf, and walk around the neighborhood looking at Christmas decorations.  Whenever we would see Christmas lights/decorations we would all scream "CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS!  WOOOO WOOO!" and raise our hands in the air.

We put up our Christmas tree at the end of November.  Putting up the tree and decorating is not an easy feat, so if you are going to decorate I say you do it early so you can enjoy it all of December!  We also finally got a star for the tree.  I've had this tree since before Candor was born and never got around to getting a star.  Candor insisted and said it is not a Christmas tree until it has a star.

We also took a trip so Candor and Townes could pick out their 2017 Christmas ornament.  Candor picked out the 18-wheeler for himself and the Santa riding in the red car for Townes.  Candor had a blast looking at the ornaments and spent lots and lots and lots of time picking out the perfect two.

When we got home he then spent a lot more time picking out the perfect spot on the tree to place their ornaments.

We decorated Candor's chalkboard wall.  He wanted to draw the snow and boy did he have a lot of snow on the wall.  Chalk dust was everywhere, but hey you only get to decorate your room once for Christmas as a 3 yr old.

Cire the Elf on the Shelf came back from the North Pole to visit Candor and Townes.  On his first visit he brought them their very first set of matching PJ's!

Cire did some pretty cute things this year...

Candor loved finding him every morning except the one day that Cire took his balloon.  Candor was irate.  You are not suppose to touch Cire or he loses his magic so I had to carefully cut the balloon string with scissors so Candor could get his balloon back.

We sent out our yearly card.

We went to the Trail of Lights, probably my favorite thing to do at Christmas.

Townes loved it.  I love his eyes in this picture.  He looks so amazed.

Candor also had so much fun.  He got to ride the carousel.  He booked it right past the horses and directly to the bench.  He told Todd he didn't want to ride on a horse, he wanted to ride on the sleigh!

We visited Santa.  I swear to you 3 seconds before this picture was taken Candor had his hands covering his eyes telling us that he did not want to see Santa.  The minute the lady said smile Candor flashed his award winning smile.  He then got pretty excited when Santa asked him what he wanted.  Candor let him know he wanted a bicycle, an 18-wheeler carrying a race car, a tanker truck, an animal hauler, and police legos.  He then gave him a high-five and went on his way.  Townes smiles all the time.  I couldn't believe it when I got the picture that he just looked a little ho-hum about Santa.

Candor's preschool had their Christmas pageant.  Candor's class was the animals in the stable.  Candor was the cow!  Ms. Suzy said that she picked Candor to be the leader walking into the church because he was good at putting everyone in their place.  I can believe that!

Making his entrance waving at all his 'fans'.  Ha!

They were all so incredibly cute and sang so sweetly.

Proud mommy and daddy after the show.  Yes, Todd's shirt does say 'Merica Christmas and Santa is wearing a sleeveless Santa suit.  Ayaya.

After the pageant they all had pizza and a Happy Birthday Jesus cake.  Ms. Suzy said that the cake was the only thing the kids talked about weeks leading up to the pageant.

Sweet little Townes was sick so he didn't get to go.  Him and Pop Pop hung out at the house.  Even being sick he is still a little stud.

He did help us celebrate Aunt Joy's birthday when we got home!

On Christmas Eve we were all so excited as Santa was finally going to come that night.  We tracked Santa on the Santa Tracker all day.  Once it was close to bedtime Candor and Townes laid out cookies and milk for Santa.

Candor then decided he had to have a cookie too so he ate his cookie and Todd read us all The Cajun Night Before Christmas.

After they were tucked in their beds and fast asleep, Todd made us our traditional glass of eggnog and we got to work laying out all the presents while watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Townes was the first one up so we patiently hung out and waited on Candor to wake up.

Once Candor woke up the party began.  They were so excited to see/open all their gifts.  Everything Candor would look at he would say "This is just what I wanted!".  It was so stinking cute.

Candor was so excited about his new bike that he gave it a hug.

Townes loved putting all his new toys in his mouth.

After we opened all the presents Candor and I immediately went outside and took his bike for a spin.  He did awesome!  Everyone he would pass he would tell them to look at his cool new bike Santa brought him.

That afternoon we headed to Lakeway to open presents with Nana, Pop Pop, Aunt Joy, AK, AB, and Navy.

I'll let you guess what this gift is that Pop Pop got.

A few days later we celebrated Christmas with G, Pa Pa, Molly, Travis, and Adeline.  These two boys are spoiled rotten!

The next few days were spent recovering from the busy holiday season and playing with all of the new toys.  One of Candor's gifts was a soccer net.  Much to my dismay, and Todd's delight, it lived in the living room for the next week.  Todd sent the following to one of his buds who just had his first baby boy.  He has never said anything more accurate in his life.

"If you have boys, your home will become the ultimate bachelor pad.  Remember when you first got married and your wife got rid of all your things and replaced them with junk she bought at Pier 1 Imports?  You were like, Babe, enough decor - lets setup a soccer goal in the living room and she was like, ummmm, no.  Well now you are redeemed!"

Christmas 2017 was the best yet!  Cheers to 2018 and many more days with soccer nets, trucks, balls, tools, legos, hot wheels, airplanes and trains covering every square inch of my house!

23 Months! (Townes)

My little man is now 23 months old! He is so happy, sweet and funny!  His days are spent laughing and smiling...with only a few tears thrown in there every once in awhile. His new favorite loves this month are dandelions and helping me do things. Townes can spot a dandelion from a mile away and insists on grabbing every single one of them. He also insists on helping me do everything.  Some things take a bit longer to do with Townes helping but I'll take them taking out the trash everyday! His favorite foods is still tacos.  He gets fired up anytime we mention tacos and starts chanting....'TACOS! TACOS!'. He loves soccer balls.  One day he had a fit to try on one of Candor's soccer uniforms.  I have never in my life seen anyone so proud.  He was glowing and thought he was so cool like his big bro. Todd ordered them both a new Liverpool kit which was also Townes first soccer kit of...

15 Months! (Candor)

Candor man is now 15 Months old!  He is a bundle of energy and never stops.  He has two speeds... 0mph (asleep) and 100mph (ALL other times). He has become a super funny little guy.  On the daily information sheets I get after school silly is always circled.  Mrs. Maggie and Mrs. Lauris says he really cuts up during nap time.  When everyone is 'suppose' to be napping Candor will get off his mat,  go over to the ladies (the little girls in the class),  squat down, and whisper "hey hey" so they will get up and play with him.  This Tuesday there was a new little friend in class named Miles.  Mrs. Maggie and Mrs. Lauris said that Miles and Candor did downward dog and giggled at each other all during nap time. His teachers think he is hilarious now but I bet the older he gets the less funny he will be.  He better enjoy it now!

Those Cheeks!

We went to Maria's Taco Express for breakfast today....at noon. Late start to the day. Candor was cutting up a bit in his car seat so Todd picked him up. After a few minutes of laughing he passed out on Todd's shoulder.
