Today you turned one... (Candor)

My dear sweet precious beautiful baby boy.  Today you turned one!!  We had a wonderful day.  We had to go pick up your daddy at the airport around midnight.  When we made it back home we sang you Happy Birthday and you got to open your present!  Your daddy bought you a Sphero that we named Nubby.  He has been eyeing this thing for months!  It is a little ball that you control with your iphone.  He would make Nubby roll all over the house and you would chase it.  You finally got to bed around 1:30. When you woke up you ate your favorite breakfast....milk!!  We made it to my goal of 1 year breastfeeding.  At first it was so hard but we eventually got into the swing of things.  I remember one day in the early weeks I told your daddy that I couldn't last a year of nursing.  He told me not to worry about how long you can do it - just focus on today.  I focused on 'today' many times.  I will always treasure thos...

11 Months!

Candor is now 11 months old!  I CANNOT believe that he will be one year in less than a month.

Week with Poppy and Nana Katie

When Todd went to Gulf Shores for Uncle T.'s bachelor party Poppy & Nana Katie came and stayed with me and Candor.  Lucky for my parents I didn't make them work this time - it was only play. Swim Lessons: Little Deli: Park: The Thinkery: Trying turkey....  He is suspicious..and is not a big fan. Morning Snuggles with Nana Katie: Ready for Church: La Casita after church: Bye Bye Poppy and Nana Katie.  Please come back soon!

Tough Mudder

A few weeks ago some of Todd's friends came into town and we all did the Tough Mudder race.  PaPa & G were kind enough to come to Austin to keep Candor. Friday night we all went and ate at the Little Deli. Saturday Todd and I did the Tough Mudder and PaPa, G, and Candor went to the Violet Crown Festival and ate at the Little Deli again. PaPa and Candor at Little Deli. Muddy muddy Tough Mudder. The above picture above reminded me of the picture we took on our honeymoon in Jamaica (below) many moons ago. Sunday we went to church, went and ate at Lupe Tortilla, and then we had to say bye to Papa & G.

Splash Pad

Last Sunday afternoon we decided to head downtown and take the boy to the Splash Pad.  He LOVED it. After the Splash Pad we went to El Arroyo to eat supper. Candor was so exhausted that he slept like this.  I don't think I have mentioned but Candor NO LONGER SLEEPS IN HIS SWING!!! What the what?!?!  He now loves his crib.  In the mornings I find him in all kinds of random positions...on his back, side, stomach, and sometimes he is standing up leaning on the rails waiting for me to come and get him!

Mother's Day 2015

The days leading up to Mother's Day and Mother's Day were amazing!  I wish everyday was Mother's Day! On Thursday Todd had arranged for AK to come and stay with Candor while we went to dinner.  It was a complete surprise and I was so happy.  We went to the Goodnight and had dinner and then walked over to Bartlett's for dessert.  I was so surprised and raring to get out of the house that I took no pics of the night! Saturday morning Todd's friend from high school, Jill, came for brunch.  It was fun getting to know Jill and Candor loved her. Saturday night our church had Parent's Night Out.  Parents can drop their babies off from 4-8 and have a night of freedom.  Candor had tons of fun and Todd and I went and ate at Uchiko.  So good. Below is a picture of Candor and Sunny (children's director).  Candor is sporting his very first name tag! On Sunday (Mother's Day) Todd made us breakfast.  We went to church and actually became...
