Candor goes to Townes

Candor man is now 13 Months!  He is still not walking but crawling faster than I can run.  He loves his toy cars and trucks.  He rolls them around and around and around the house.  He also likes to bang them on the glass windows and doors.  His favorite food is banana blueberry pouches and he can feed himself.  He also like sweet potato fries, tomatoes, and pickles.  He nurses once a day in the morning and the remainder of the day he drinks Whole Milk and water. He can also now give kisses!  I tell him to give me a kiss and he opens his mouth and pops one right on my lips.  Sweetest thing ever.

Candor slept in his crib last night without his swaddle.  This is a huge step as he has had some type of swaddle on him during every nap/sleep since the day he was born.  This new milestone made me think of the poem 'The Last Time'.  I tear up every time I read it. The Last Time From the moment you hold your baby in your arms, you will never be the same. You might long for the person you were before, When you had freedom and time, And nothing in particular to worry about. You will know tiredness like you never knew it before, And days will run into days that are exactly the same, Full of feeding and burping, Whining and fighting, Naps or lack of naps.  It might seem like a never-ending cycle. But don't forget... There is a last time for everything. There will come a time when you will feed your baby for the very last time. They will fall asleep on you after a long day And it will be the last time you ever hold your sleeping child. One day yo...

I'm not sure if I mentioned but Candor said Momma several weeks ago!!  He has been saying it on and off since. Poppy and Nana Katie were in town visiting this week and on Sunday morning Candor said ......... NANA!!!! Nana Katie was over the moon!

Candor got baptized the day after his birthday party!  Are these two not the cutest?? On the way to church. Family pictures before church. Waiting for church to start. Baptism. Family photo.  Candor was so lucky to have so many family members present.

Candor had his first birthday party on Saturday, July 25.   We had a packed house.  Poppy, Nana Katie, PaPa, G, GUB, AJ, Dewana, Addison, and even Alyssa drove to Austin for the fun!!  It was an awesome day. Pre Birthday Visit with GUB.  They are two peas in a pod. The theme was Candor's Cantina.  We had food from Chuy's, cupcakes, and homemade #1 cookies made by Nana. G made the Candor Fans and they were a huge hit. Candor had a cupcake for his 'Smash the Cake'.  Before he dug in everyone sang him happy birthday.  I thought he might cry with everyone staring and singing to him but he loved the attention.  Once he figured out he was suppose to eat the cupcake he did not stop.   The photos above the high chair are all of his month picutres. Candor had his 12 month visit with Dr. D.   He weighed in at 21.13lbs and is 29 1/2 inches long.  He also had to get 2 shots. Big tears fell after the shots. Normally Candor just sits in our laps during his doctor visits.  This time - he only wanted to play with the toys / people around us. Candor saw this little baby and his older brother on the other side of the room.  He really wanted to go see what they were doing but he didn't want to get to far away from Todd.  He would crawl halfway over and smile and then he would scurry quickly back to Todd. Playing in the waiting room. It is probably not a good idea to play with toys in the doctor's office as all the other sick little kids have touched them but when Candor wants something he gets it. Waiting on Dr. D. Happily playing with toys not knowing he is about to get two shots!

Candor is now 12 months old! This is also the last month tie sticker in my booklet.  I do hope to continue taking photos each month on the 23rd.....that is until he is about 10 and tells taking a picture every month is so not cool.
